After seminary, Rick briefly worked as a stockbroker and analyst but spent most of his career as a portfolio manager. He loved the investment business and loved working with his clients.

Rick was a great conversationalist, an avid reader and a committed walker. He was known for his unwavering kindness, his strong leadership, his steadfast nature and his great sense of humor. He took on new roles, adventures and opportunities with openness and integrity. He was most proud of his family and found great joy in spending time with them.
