A Sharon man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital following a Saturday, Aug. 30, motorcycle crash along Route 8 near Old Plank Road in Penn Township.

Ehab Elhaj, 21, was driving south along Route 8 when he lost control of his motorcycle and jumped off the bike before it traveled into a guide rail, according to state police.

A news release said the crash was reported around noon Saturday.

Elhaj suffered serious injuries, even though he was wearing a helmet and safety equipment, police said.
