‘House of Cards’ star Robin Wright leaves U.S. for England

“House of Cards” star Robin Wright has left the U.S. for England.

Wright, 59, who played ruthless first lady Claire Underwood in HBO’s “House of Cards,” was reluctant to talk politics in the interview published over the weekend, but said she loved the “freedom” of living in England.

“I love being in this country. There’s a freedom of self here. People are so kind,” she said.

According to the Texas native, she found life in the U.S. to be fast, competitive and filled with often “panicked” people distracted by ambition. Not so with folks in England.

“They’re living,” according to Wright.

Wright has been largely working in the UK for the past couple years and renting properties. She’s currently working on Prime Video’s ” The Girlfriend” in England. Wright, who’s been married three times including to actor Sean Penn, is spending time overseas with her boyfriend Henry Smith.

Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson’s romance with Liam Neeson was PR stunt for ‘Naked Gun’

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson were never dating — their flirty red carpet vibes were actually part of a marketing stunt for their movie “Naked Gun,” according to reports.

“Their chemistry was real on camera, but off? It was strictly business,” a source told OK! “Pamela Anderson is a pro, Liam Neeson is a pro — they knew leaning into the rumors would get attention.”

According to TMZ, the actors, who played loved interests in the reboot, were actually far from being a couple. They didn’t once see each other between the time cameras stopped rolling in June 2024 and the start of the press tour for “Naked Gun” more than a year later. And when they were together, it was never one-on-one, sources told the outlet. If they were having dinner, they were usually joined by their assistants.

Still, both Neeson and Anderson gushed over each other in the lead-up to the release of their film.

“With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with,” Neeson proclaimed. “I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you.”

The “Baywatch” alum seemed mutually smitten, calling 73-year-old Neeson a “perfect gentleman.”

Before being linked with her co-star, Anderson had been married five times: first to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee (1995-98), then briefly to Kid Rock (2006), twice to pro poker player Rick Salomon (2007-08 and 2014-15), and finally to her former bodyguard Dan Hayhurst (2020-22).

Neeson, meanwhile, has kept his romantic life out of the spotlight since the death of his wife, Tony-winning actress Natasha Richardson. She was taken off life support in early 2009 at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, just days after suffering a brain injury during a skiing accident at a Canadian resort. They had been married for 15 years.

George Clooney

George Clooney cuts Venice Film Fest appearances due to health issues

A sinus infection has sidelined George Clooney during his anticipated return to the Venice International Film Festival.

The two-time Academy Award winner dropped out of a string of major appearances at this 82nd annual event, which kicked off Wednesday on the barrier island of Lido.

“George has been diagnosed with a sinus infection and is under doctor’s orders to cut back all activities today,” Clooney’s rep confirmed Thursday.

The 64-year-old actor and director didn’t attend the press junket for ” Jay Kelly,” his latest film directed by Noah Baumbach, and also skipped out on a high-profile dinner with co-stars Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, Emily Mortimer and Billy Crudup.

Clooney reportedly arrived in Venice by boat on Tuesday with his wife, Amal, but also missed the official news conference for the Netflix release on Thursday morning.

“Even movie stars get sick,” Baumbach quipped at the event.

Per the Netflix synopsis, “Jay Kelly” centers on a famous actor, played by Clooney, who “embarks on a journey of self discovery confronting both his past and present, accompanied by his devoted manager.”

The “Good Night, and Good Luck” star is a regular at the Venice Film Festival, bringing many of the projects he’s directed, starred in and produced.

Clooney also famously used the romantic city as the backdrop for his 2014 wedding to Amal Alamuddin.
