Schontz 50th anniversary
Rick and Connie Schontz, of Butler Township, celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner on Aug. 19, in Chesapeake Bay, Easton, Md. They also took a trip to Aruba.
Schontz married the former Connie Cehelsky on Aug. 9, 1975, at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, with a reception at St. Michael’s, in Butler.
They have three children, Rick Schontz (Lindsey) of Philadelphia, Kimberly Veltri (Pete) of Washingon, Pa. and Michael Schontz (Gretchen) of Sudbury, Mass.
The Schontzes also have five grandchildren, Graham and Preston Schontz, Amelia and Savina Veltri and Bode Schontz.
Schontz is a retired teacher, was a track and field coach and a city council member. He is a member of the Elks, Slovak Club and Golf League and Butler County Referees Association.
Mrs. Schontz is retired, she owned and operated a day care for 33 years.
The Schontzes are members of All Saints Parish.
