To mark International Overdose Awareness Day on Sunday, Aug. 31, the Butler County Opioid Overdose Coalition is hosting its fourth annual “Butler County Remembers” ceremony at 7 p.m. at the Grace Community Wellness Center on West Diamond Street.

The ceremony, which will conclude with a candlelit walk down Main Street, will honor the 44 Butler County lives lost to opioid overdose in 2024. During the ceremony, family and friends will have a chance to speak about their lost loved ones.

The Butler County Opioid Overdose Coalition, formed in 2016, is comprised of public health and safety professionals whose goal is to address the opioid epidemic in the county.
