PennDOT extends lane restrictions for Karns Crossing Bridge project
Traffic restrictions caused by the Karns Crossing Bridge project in Butler and Summit townships will remain in place longer than initially planned, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Thursday.
Delwood Road, which has been closed since April to allow for the installation of a temporary road, will remain closed until November 2026. Originally, the closure was expected to last through the beginning of this November.
In addition, a single-lane traffic restriction will remain in place on East Jefferson Street, from Eau Claire Street to Oneida Valley Road. The restriction was put in place this April. The lane closure is in effect weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The bridge replacement project is expected to finish in spring 2028, at a projected cost of $64.8 million, with Swank Construction Company as the lead contractor.
