Denny Offstein, a longtime business owner and philanthropist in Butler, was awarded the key to the city at a council meeting Thursday, Aug. 28.

Besides owning Denny Offstein Auto Sales & Service in Butler’s Island neighborhood, some of Offstein’s biggest accomplishments include establishing a program to give thousands of free bikes away and raising funds for the city’s K9 police unit.

“I’m not the first mayor to step up here and say ‘job well done,’” Mayor Bob Dandoy said to Offstein.

State Rep. Marci Mustello, R-11th, also presented a commendation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for Offstein’s support of his community.
