Sports museum to explore legacy and impact of Pitt football legend Bobby Grier
The Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum at the Heinz History Center will explore the story of University of Pittsburgh football star Bobby Grier — the first African American to play in the Sugar Bowl — at a special program from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 17.
Presented in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh and the Grier family, “Game Changers: Bobby Grier” will include an engaging panel discussion featuring Samuel W. Black, Dorin Dickerson, Rob Grier Jr., Brandon Miree and Rob Ruck.
“Game Changers: Bobby Grier” is $10 for nonmembers and $5 for History Center members. Admission is free for students with a valid ID. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event will take place in the museum’s fifth floor Mueller Center.
