Butler-based Armco Credit Union said its members should be on alert for fraudulent activity as the organization has detected an active fraud ring impersonating Armco staff and the credit union’s fraud monitoring company.
According to the credit union, scammers are calling members, requesting debit card information and then using it to make unauthorized transactions.
Armco urges customers to review all texts received from its third-party fraud monitoring company before responding.
If customers question the authenticity of the text, they should contact the credit union directly at 724-284-2020 to discuss the potentially fraudulent activity.
