Statues at farm show bring questions
I’m writing in regards to the article and picture in the Aug. 5 edition of the Butler Eagle titled “Trump statue joins Corey Comperatore’s at Farm Show.” Three questions came to mind as I read the article.
First question: the last paragraph states it was in honor of the heroic action of our president. First of all, Donald Trump was not the president at that point in time.
Secondly, what was the heroic action? He simply put his hand to his ear and was rushed off to the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. This is the same thing that would have been done for any other person. Again, I ask: What heroic action?
Second question: The article went on to state that U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly donated the statue to the Butler County Republican Committee. Where did the money for this statue come from? I personally think the money could have been better spent if it had been donated to our local homeless veterans.
Third question: What is going to be done with this statue now?
