William ‘Billy’ VanWormer

William J. “Billy” VanWormer, 32, of Apple Road, Petrolia, passed away early Wednesday morning, Aug. 20, 2025, in Blair County.

William was born in Butler on Sept. 11, 1992. He was the son of Patricia L. Haley and the stepson of John Knox of Petrolia.

Billy attended Karns City Area Jr./Sr. High School and was a 2011 cyber school graduate. He had been employed at Country Kitchen in Butler.

He enjoyed gaming and the company of his friends and family.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by two aunts, Sheila Colville and Shelby Haley, and an uncle, Lance Colville, all of West Sunbury; and his cousins, Samantha, Trevor, Devin, Chase, Lauryn and Corey.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ron and Shirley Haley.

VANWORMER — Friends of William J. “Billy” VanWormer, who died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF KARNS CITY, 128 Main St., Karns City. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Bishop Alan Ion, pastor of Karns City Church of God of Prophecy, officiating.
