On Wednesday, Aug. 20, the Salvation Army announced it is partnering with U.S. Steel to collect donations for families affected by the Aug. 11 explosion at the U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Plant.

According to a release by the organization, 100% of the donations will be distributed to the immediate families of those who died, as well as those who suffered significant injuries and were or remain hospitalized.

Donations are being accepted online at salvationarmywpa.org/steel or by texting “steel” to 31333. The fundraiser will stop accepting donations on Sept. 30.
