Scott & Christie Eyecare Associates of Cranberry Township has added Matthew Sommers to its team of eye care specialists.

Sommers has experience in advanced eye care and clinical research for improving access to glaucoma care, handheld tonometer technology, operating room efficiency and international collaborations in urology and oncology research.

His work spans institutions, including the University of Pittsburgh, Southern Denmark University and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Sommers earned his medical degree from the Robert Larner M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. He completed his ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
