Miller Minutes: ‘If there is one thing I understand, it’s Italian culture’
I’m not Italian in the slightest — you can look at me and tell my ancestors hail from Ireland and Russia. But if there is one thing I understand, it’s Italian culture.
Italian food is some of the most comforting and crowd-pleasing of all cuisine. Who doesn’t love spaghetti, gnocchi, pizza and cannoli? Not only that, but Italians are known for their hospitality and they place a particular importance on family gatherings. Watch any movie centered around Italian families (“Moonstruck,” “The Godfather” or “Under the Tuscan Sun,” to name a few) and you’ll immediately feel right at home.
This is the kind of energy you will find if you attend Butler’s Italian Days this weekend. Everyone is family, everyone is happy you are there and everybody wants to ensure you leave stuffed.
If you’re looking for a place to belong, you can certainly find it on Butler’s Main Street. The event closes out summer, while opening the door for you to try wonderful authentic foods and hang out with friends.
