Kenneth Frederick Leetch, of Sharpsville, Pa., formerly of Butler, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, at Clepper Manor. He was 96.

Born in Butler, he was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Grace (Forster) Leetch; his wife of 65 years, Joan (Murphy) Leetch; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Ramona Leetch; and brother, Larry Leetch.

Ken was an accounting graduate of Butler County Community College and an industrial engineering graduate of Pittsburgh Tech. He had been employed at Fretz-Moon Tube Co., Armco Steel and Pullman Standard and, at the time of his retirement, he was the accounting manager at Sharon Tube.

Ken earned his wings as a gunner on a B-29 bomber in the Army Air Forces. He was stationed at North Field on Guam and at Clark Field on Luzon in the Philippines. He was also an aircraft armorer. His last assignment was as a military policeman at McGuire Field, N.J.

He belonged to many community, veteran and professional organizations. He was a life member of the Butler Elks Lodge, a member of the American Legion, Wheatland Post No. 432 and the Hickory VFW Post 6166.

During their golden years, Joan and Ken enjoyed spending their winters in Orange Beach, Ala.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen (Kevin) Jacobsen, of Gettysburg; a son, James (Linda) Leetch, of Hermitage; four grandsons, Ken Leetch, John Leetch, Robby (Lacey) Jacobsen and Steven (Laura) Jacobsen; nine great-grandchildren, Cherrylin, Carter, Kenley, McCoy, Virginia, Connor, Owen, Ella and Luke; stepgrandchildren, Mark (Morgan) and Kendra (Dan); and stepgreat-grandchildren Lilly, Fleur and Sebastian.

LEETCH — Per his wishes, all services are private for Kenneth Frederick Leetch, who died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025.
