Violet Rihel, 87, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025.

She was born in East Butler on March 4, 1938, to the late Russell Crispin and Florence (Foust) Anthony.

Violet attended Butler High School and was the owner of a commercial cleaning company, “Rainbow Janitorial.” She was known for being very hardworking, and she loved to spend time with her family and study her Bible.

Violet was the beloved wife of Lawrence Rihel, since their marriage on Sept. 25, 1965; mother of Melanie Schuler and Lawrence (Shirley), David (Rochelle) and Micheal (Gloria Vincent) Rihel; grandmother of Nicole (David), Mark (Shayla), Michael, Nathan, Tyler and Jeffrey; and great-grandmother of Mason, Mia and Maren. She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Rihel, in 2023; and her siblings, Melvin, Gerald and Ronald Crispin and Louise Curtis.

RIHEL — Family and friends of Violet Rihel, who died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.

Burial will be held privately at Butler County Memorial Park Cemetery.
