High school sports roundup: Mars boys golf takes down Knoch; A-C Valley/Union’s Joe Rapp wins mega match
Mars boys golf featured five sub-40 scores in defeating Knoch 183-212 Tuesday at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course.
Jackson Geiger led the way with a 34, followed by Finn McKenzie (36), Luka Zatchey (37), Lukas Singh (38) and Jack Weaver (38).
For Knoch, Colt Sprankle carded a 39 and Jacob Jones a 40.
North Catholic 186, Aquinas Academy 237 — Ben Kandravy, Chris Faber and Dylan Murray all medaled by posting a 35 at Pheasant Ridge.
KSAC Mega Match No. 4 — At Bostonia Country Club near New Bethlehem, A-C Valley/Union’s Joe Rapp won his fourth match in as many tries with a 34.
The Falcon Knights also received a 37 from Koen Strauser. Joey O'Donnell carded a 37 for Karns City. A trio from Moniteau — Brennan Kelly, Carson Minnear and Carson Beck — each shot 41.
Keystone placed first in the team standings with a 205, winning its fourth straight mega match. A-C Valley/Union entered the day in third and finished the match second with a 212. Moniteau came in third with a 214.
Seneca Valley won its season opener against West Allegheny 4-1. It’s new coach Andrea Morrisard’s first win with the Raiders. No other stats were provided.
