Police: 2 Orlando women steal wallet at Cranberry Walmart
Two Orlando women are accused of stealing a wallet at the Cranberry Township Walmart and attempting to purchase around $5,000 in electronics with stolen funds.
Oana Romana Dumitru, 43, was charged Thursday, Aug. 14, with three felony counts of criminal conspiracy and one felony count each of theft and dealing in stolen funds following the alleged incident earlier that day.
Andreia Dunca, 20, was charged with one felony count each of dealing in stolen funds, criminal conspiracy and credit card fraud; and one misdemeanor count each of theft and criminal conspiracy.
Police said an unidentified man also participated in the alleged crime.
Police said while Dumitru and Dunca distracted a woman, the unidentified man unzipped the woman’s backpack in her shopping cart and removed a wallet. The wallet contained an American Airlines advantage credit card with a $12,500 limit.
Police said Dumitru and Dunca then left the Walmart and went to Best Buy where they purchased a computer for $2,383.94. A second purchase of $2,499 was attempted but declined.
Police said the two women left the store in a silver Kia minivan.
Preliminary hearings for the two women are yet to be scheduled.
