Eugene Heath Sr.
Eugene Leslie Heath Sr. of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday Aug. 3, 2025, at the age of 94.
A Korean War veteran, he was born to William and May Heath in Butler July 27, 1931. He served as a Butler police officer from 1952-1972.
He is survived by his children, Linda Rowsey (Ken), Edgewater, Fla., Nancy Williams (Lane), Winston-Salem, N.C.; Mary Bennett Gordon, Holly Hill, Fla.; Brenda Wiggins (Mike), Port Orange, Fla.; Lisa Becker (Jeff), Odesa, Fla.; Susan Merritt, Pineville, La.; Leslie Ray (Chris), Butler; grandchildren, Donna and Joe Sadelfeld, Amanda Story, Joseph and Michael Pike, Richard Bennett Jr., Aaron Williamson, Patrick and Erica Roeper, Ashley Roeper, Danielle and Bryan Midlik, David and Ali Becker, Madeline Stevison, Cameron and Colton Dero; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son Eugene Jr.; and six siblings.
HEATH — Family and friends of Eugene Leslie Heath Sr. who died Sunday Aug. 3, 2025, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the funeral home.
Burial with full military honors directed by the Butler Co. Honor Guard will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in his name to Tunnel to Towers, who support veterans and first responders. t2t.org
