Cleanup needed along state roads
As my wife and I travel the state roads of Butler County, it’s nice to see the different organizations that help keep our state roads clean from litter.
It’s a shame Pennsylvania Department of Transportation does not do the same. Have you noticed all the trees, limbs and branches that have been left behind along PennDOT’s rights of way? Check out Route 422, Route 8, north and south, Route 308/West Sunbury Road, Route 356 and Whitestown Road are just a few examples.
Branches that are left hanging out on the berms can cause a dangerous situation for an unsuspecting motorist.
Maybe a possible solution is collecting all these downed trees on your right of way and haul them to a designated area and allow the public to take them and cut them up for fire wood.
As it says on PennDOT’s website: “Striving for a safer, more connected Pennsylvania.”
