Buffalo Elementary teacher, volleyball coach accused of sexually assaulting a minor
State police charged a Buffalo Elementary School teacher, who also coaches volleyball, with several crimes including rape, trafficking and sexual assault of a minor.
Jared Lampus, 50, of Sarver, is accused sexually assaulting a child, who was 16 when the contact began, state police said. The contact occurred from 2023 to 2025 in multiple jurisdictions within Butler, Armstrong and Allegheny counties, according to state police.
In addition to teaching, he also was a coach at the Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Association.
Lampus is also charged with criminal attempt involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, institutional sexual assault, sexual assault by sports official, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor and theft by deception.
Police arrested Lampus on Aug. 15 in Buffalo Township, and he is being held in Butler County Prison.
