James Stewart Jr.
James P. Stewart Jr., 75, of Butler, formerly of the Clintonville area, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Jim was born Sept. 9, 1949, in Butler. He was son of the late James P. Stewart Sr. and Betty Felix Stewart.
Jim was married to Wilma Masar on Oct. 1, 2022. She survives.
Jim graduated from Moniteau High School. He ran James P. Stewart Excavating out of Kennerdell for numerous years. He worked throughout the surrounding area of Clintonville. Jim enjoyed his work, especially working on his excavator. He and his wife, Wilma, enjoyed going for car rides to Moraine State Park, always stopping for ice cream along the way. Jim loved to sit outside on the porch and watch birds, and the companionship of his two favorite dogs, Mow Mow and Snoopy.
Loved ones to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife, Wilma Stewart of Butler; his sons, JP Stewart III and his wife, Becca, of Kennerdell, and Brian Stewart and his wife, Megan, of Rocky Grove; his stepbrother, Bob Klingensmith; and stepsister, Marty Walker; Jim’s grandchildren, Perry Stewart IIII, Madison Stewart and Bobby Rossman and his wife, Demi, Willow Stewart, Brian Stewart Jr., Charlie Stewart and Carson Stewart; and JP, Brian and Heather’s mother, Jackie Stewart.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Heather D. Stewart, who passed away May 4, 2004.
STEWART — A celebration of life for James P. Stewart Jr., who died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Butler Church Road, Chicora. A luncheon will follow.
