High school golf roundup: Moniteau’s Hayden Hilliard 4th at mega match; Butler boys win first section match
Moniteau’s Hayden Hilliard turned in a 51, the fourth-best individual showing at Friday’s KSAC girls golf mega match No. 2 at Brookville’s Pinecrest Country Club. Karns City’s Maddy Albee (55) had the sixth-best effort.
The Warriors (164) finished second behind Cranberry (163) as a team. Gabriella Shearer had a 56 and Kennedy Sullivan a 65.
Butler 178, North Allegheny 182 — The Golden Tornado won their first section match of the season to improve to 2-2 (1-2 section). Levi McClellan shot an impressive 33 at Slippery Rock Golf Course over nine holes to lead the field. Teammates Jase Renwick and Blake Scott shot 35 and 36, respectively.
Knoch 201, New Castle 222 — Aaron Voltz carded a team-best 37 for the Knights (1-2). Brendan Fiore had a 40 and Jacob Jones and Brady Linamen 41s.
Slippery Rock 323, A-C Valley 326 — The Rockets won this match at Foxburg Country Club, with Hudson Vice leading the way with a 75. Jacob Kunsman added a 79 for Slippery Rock.
Joe Rapp fired a 69 for the Falcon Knights, and Koen Strauser had a 79.
