Independence Health System’s Butler Memorial Hospital announced a change to its entrance hours and security protocols will take place in the coming days.

Starting Monday, Aug. 18, the hospital’s Brady Street lobby entrance will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The entrance will be closed on weekends and holidays. Before the change, the entrance was open 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The tower lobby entrance will keep its current hours: 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday; 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday and holidays.

In addition to the change of hours, Independence Health System said both entrances will have on-duty security personnel during operating hours. All visitors entering will be screened using metal detectors.

“Independence Health System continues to work closely with hospital staff, on-site security teams and local law enforcement to proactively strengthen security protocols across all facilities. These measures reflect the system’s dedication to maintaining a culture of preparedness, vigilance and care,” the announcement said.
