North Washington Rodeo holds kickoff party

A kickoff party for the North Washington Rodeo was held Monday evening, Aug. 11, with performances by the Moniteau High School marching band and Gary Burke III.
Burke’s performance at the event was part of his 10-stop “Let Freedom Ring” tour to benefit first responders. Burke is holding the tour in honor of the late Corey Comperatore.
The rodeo runs from Tuesday, Aug. 12, to Saturday, Aug. 16, at the North Washington Rodeo Grounds at 2225 Oneida Valley Road, Washington Township.
Proceeds from the 65th iteration of the event, which draws hundreds of horsemen from around the nation and world, benefit the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
