Grace Marie Watt, 91, of Portersville, passed away at Grove Manor Nursing Home in Grove City on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025.

Grace was born in Louisville, Ky., on Feb. 21, 1934, to James David Price and Marilla Marley Price.

Grace married Richard Leroy Watt on April 8, 1950, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2013.

Grace was a homemaker and active partner with her husband in their ministry. She was a former member of Zion Baptist Church in Worth Township. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being active in Bible study and various Women’s Missionary group projects of the churches she and her husband served. She was in ministry with her husband for over 50 years, serving more than 12 churches in over eight states. Grace taught her five daughters to sing, harmonize and praise the Lord through music as she accompanied them on the piano.

Survivors include five daughters, Peggy A. (Raymond) Alben of Portersville, Dawn M. (the Rev. Dr. Victor) Shields of Slippery Rock, Susan G. Shields of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jeanne C. (Thomas) Leach of Charlotte, N.C., and Nancy G. (Phil) Miller of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, the Rev. Dr. James D. Price of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the Rev. Richard Leroy Watt; and a son-in-law, Jack Shields.

WATT — The family of Grace Marie Watt, who died Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Zion Baptist Church, 148 Currie Road, Slippery Rock.

Funeral services will follow at the church at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Dr. Victor Shields and his son, the Rev. Andrew Shields, son-in-law and grandson of Grace, presiding.

Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Slippery Rock.
