Drive responsibly
I’m writing to urge fellow drivers to slow down and drive with more care and patience — especially around new drivers.
There’s been a noticeable rise in aggressive behavior on our local roads, including tailgating, speeding and illegal passing in residential neighborhoods where the speed limit is only 25 mph to 35 mph.
This kind of behavior creates an unsafe and stressful environment for everyone, but especially for those who are still learning.
A new driver I know has been illegally passed every single day she’s been out practicing with her learner’s permit — while she was going the posted speed limit in residential areas. That’s not just frustrating — it’s dangerous, irresponsible and completely unnecessary.
We were all new drivers once. Let’s show some patience, obey the speed limits, and respect the people who live and drive in our neighborhoods.
A few extra seconds of courtesy can help build confidence, prevent accidents and make our roads safer for everyone.
