Leesburg planning big event for 10th year of Touch-a-Truck
When the organizers of the Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church Touch-a-Truck event gathered to plan the first one in 2014, they never dreamed that the exhibitors would agree to return year after year.
This year’s event — the 10th annual — is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the church, 1831 Perry Highway, Volant. There will be tractors, fire trucks, farm equipment, SWAT vehicles, police cars and emergency vehicles.
Families also will see clowns, face painters, vintage cars, converted castaways, the huge Piedmont crane and, if there is no emergency, the equally huge medical helicopter. This year, the Humvees will share a spot with a veteran-owned trailer, painted to inspire patriotism.
Each family in attendance can enter a drawing to win a family pass to Keystone Safari. For more information, call the church at 724-748-4670 or visit its website at leesburgecochurch.org.
