Cranberry awards $4 million in contracts for park upgrades
CRANBERRY TWP — At the regular meeting of the township supervisors on Thursday, Aug. 7, about $4 million worth of contracts were awarded for work at Cranberry Township Community Park.
Dan Santoro, township manager, said the contracts will help build two-and-a-half new multipurpose fields the size of a soccer field.
“That’ll really allow us to add recreational space for parks, and recreational programs for youth,” Santoro said.
Thomas Construction Inc. was awarded the contract for general construction for $2,932,643.80. The company provided the lowest of six bids which ranged up to more than $6 million.
Shipley Plumbing LLC was awarded the bid for plumbing in the amount of $239,886. Shipley’s bid was the lowest of three, all within $13,000 of each other.
McCurley Houston Electric, Inc. was awarded the bid for electrical work at $773,900. McCurley was also the lowest of three bids which ranged up to more than $1.6 million.
The contract awards were passed by a 4-0 vote. Supervisor John Skorupan was absent.
All bids were opened on Tuesday, July 29.
