The Butler Buccos, an 18-and-over adult wood bat baseball team, won the Pittsburgh National Adult Baseball Association AA championship Saturday.

The team swept the Biscuitville TownSquare Bandidos 2-0 in the best-of-three championship series to cap an 18-10 campaign (13-10 regular season).

It’s Butler’s first title since its formation in the league in 2023.

According to head coach and player Kyle Stelitano, the Buccos entered the playoffs as the No. 5 seed. They won Game 1 of the championship series 7-6 in extra innings, then won Game 2 6-2 after AJ Capizzi’s three-run home run highlighted a four-run seventh inning. Matthew Stanick picked a complete game, striking out 11.
