Paul D. Oberst, 67, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly at his home Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Born Jan. 25, 1958, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Paul C. Oberst and Ernestine E. (Hepp) Boss.

Paul was a graduate of Hampton High School and went on to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned a bachelor's degree. He was a man of faith, and would regularly attend All Saints Parish. Paul enjoyed the beach, and was especially fond of watching the sunrise and sunset. He was a kind and gentle soul, who loved and cherished his children and two grandsons.

He is survived by his three children, Michael (Melissa) Oberst, Daniel Oberst and Margaret Oberst; his two grandsons, Cameron and Cooper; his siblings, Kathleen (Bill) Wagner, Debbi (Gary) Zyra, Linda (Dan) Mohler, Tom (Kathi) Oberst, Patricia (Mike) Scherer, Elaine (Kurt) Wagner, Robert (Kathie) Oberst and James Oberst; his long time girlfriend, Debby Solari, 10 stepsiblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Oberst.

OBERST — Family and friends of Paul D. Oberst, who died Thursday, July 31, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at All Saints Parish, St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Extension, Butler. All are kindly asked to meet at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations in Paul's memory to Miracle League of Western PA, 4530 William Penn Hwy. No. 198, Murrysville, PA 15668.
