BUTLER TWP — One person was flown to the hospital by medical helicopter following a Friday afternoon, Aug. 1, crash along New Castle Road near Benevan Square, according to police.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash, which was reported around 2:20 p.m. and stalled traffic along the busy stretch of road with businesses like Chipotle and Jersey Mike’s.

Police said one vehicle was attempting to turn into Benevan Square at the time of the crash.

Both the vehicles had to be towed, and one of the vehicles was toppled to the side due to the impact, according to police.

The accident is under investigation, police said.
