Independence Health System’s Butler Memorial, Frick, Latrobe and Westmoreland hospitals have each received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines — Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award.

The award honors a hospital’s attention to stroke patients, based on time and evidence-based treatment aligned with nationally recognized guidelines, leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.

To qualify for the Gold Plus award, hospitals must maintain an adherence rate of 85% or higher to all applicable achievement measures for at least two consecutive years.
