An upcoming event for senior citizens is a throwback to a bygone era of community dances.

Butler County Area Agency on Aging will hold a sock hop from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at Alameda Park in Butler Township. There will be dancing under the Masonic Shelter, as well as food, beverages and bingo. The night will end with a screening of the movie “Grease.”
