2 businesses primed to open in Cranberry Township

CRANBERRY TWP — Two new businesses are on the verge of opening their doors following a supervisor’s agenda preparation meeting on Thursday, July 31.

One of those is an Amish Yard, set to be located on 1.5 acres at 1331 Old Freedom Road between the Sheetz convenience store and Drake’s Carwash.

Included with the building on the 2,550-square-foot lot will be a stormwater detention pond and an emergency vehicle turnaround. Developers are also prepared to fill in a missing link of sidewalk access to make it safer for pedestrians to access the property.

Amish Yard, which has several other locations around the greater Pittsburgh region, sells sheds and other outdoor furniture. The location will have both indoor and outdoor showrooms to display inventory.

Meanwhile, another business described its plans during a public hearing. Owners of Crash Champions, an automotive repair shop, has plans to construct a 20,000-square-foot building on 4.35 acres at 21239 Route 19 near Seven Seas Pools & Spas.

According to developers, it will include a secured parking lot for 69 vehicles in process behind a privacy fence, complete with multiple security features.

The owners plan to hire 15 to 20 employees, including management, service advisers and technicians.

Crash Champions, a privately-owned company, operates 658 locations across the country, according to its website.

Supervisors will be asked to consider preliminary and final land development applications for both businesses during the Thursday, Aug. 7, meeting.
