Seneca Valley Sports Hall of Fame: Meet the 2025 induction class of 7

The Seneca Valley Sports Hall of Fame recently announced its 2025 induction class. The seven inductees include Susan Fletcher, Jen Rape, Christopher Rebholz, Sam Struss, George Trew, Abbie Trzeciak and Matt Vogt.

They will officially join the Hall of Fame during a ceremony beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in the high school auditorium. Admittance to that is free while tickets must be purchased if attending a preceding dinner at 6 p.m. that evening. The entire class will also be recognized the following night prior to the home football game against Central Catholic at NexTier Stadium. Following are details on each inductee’s accomplishments.

Susan Fletcher, Class of 2004, cross country/swimming/track and field

Qualified for WPIAL Championships in cross country three times and in track four times. Also reached the state championship cross country meet three times. In track, she was a member of SV’s district runner-up 3,200-meter relay team in 2001, earning the program’s Most Valuable Freshman Award that season. Twice qualified for districts and states in swimming, contributing to 400 freestyle relay runner-up squads at WPIALs in 2001 and 2002. Starred in both cross country and track at Geneva College.

Jen Rape, Class of 1996, soccer/softball

Was a four-year letter-winner in soccer as a goalie and earned all-section honors two times. Earned three letters in softball. Led the team in batting average, home runs, doubles, hits and walks three straight seasons (1994-96). Was named all-section twice and Team MVP her senior year. Helped the Raiders reach the WPIAL playoffs in 1995 and 1996. Played collegiately at IUP.

Christopher Rebholz, Class of 2000, diving

Was a four-year letter-winner for the Raiders, serving as team captain and earning Team MVP honors each of those seasons. Became the first male diver in WPIAL history to win three district crowns (1997, 1999-2000). Placed third in the state as a senior, was named All-American that year and was ranked 35th in the country. Held SV’s school record score for six dives and 11 dives for 24 years. Owned the WPIAL’s 11-dive record for eight years. His collegiate career at Pitt was cut short due to injury.

Sam Struss, Class of 2011, lacrosse

Despite playing just two seasons at Seneca Valley, she graduated as the Raiders’ all-time leader in goals scored. Was twice named to the Western Pennsylvania National Team. Helped lead the Raiders to the program’s lone WPIAL title in 2011 and to the state playoffs as a junior and senior. Garnered All-WPIAL honors both seasons. Also was recognized as a U.S. Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American before starring in college at Liberty University.

George Trew, coach/contributor

Was the head coach for Seneca Valley softball 2001-2021, tallying exactly 250 wins and a .640 winning percentage. Guided the Raiders to the WPIAL championship game twice, 2007 and 2011. Was named WPIAL Section Softball Coach of the Year four times. Was an assistant coach when the Raiders won the district crown in 1999. Has served as public address announcer for SV basketball games for 27 years.

Abbie Trzeciak, Class of 2014, volleyball/basketball/track and field

Earned a total of 12 varsity letters, four each in volleyball, basketball and track and field. Helped SV’s volleyball team win the WPIAL Class 3A title in 2011 and finish runner-up the year before. Totaled 536 points and 336 rebounds in her varsity basketball career. Competed in throwing events for the track and field team. Qualified for the PIAA Championships in the javelin as a junior after earning a fifth-place medal at districts. Starred in NCAA Division I volleyball at Providence College and Duquesne University.

Matt Vogt, Class of 2009, golf/basketball

Became the first golfer in school history to earn a state medal by placing fourth as a senior. Played center on the basketball team and helped the Raiders to their first-ever section championship in 2009. His buzzer-beating basket lifted SV to a win over McDowell that same season, the program’s first-ever victory in the state playoffs. Now living in Indiana, he was voted 2024 Indiana Golf Association Player of the Year. Qualified for and played in the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.
