Central Electric Cooperative asks customers to reduce power consumption Monday

Central Electric Cooperative again asked customers to reduce power consumption during peak hours between 1-7 p.m., Monday, July 28.

The electric company listed dehumidifiers, pool pumps and household appliances as potential devices to unplug and conserve power. It also asked customers to raise the thermostat a few degrees and unplug nonessential appliances.

“Small adjustments in when, where and how you use electricity do make a difference in energy costs during high-demand periods,” the company said in a July 28 news release. “By decreasing electricity used during high-demand periods — when prices are at their highest — everyone can help stabilize future power costs for all members.”
