Central Electric Cooperative asks customers conserve energy

Central Electric Cooperative is again asking customers to limit energy consumption during peak hours of 1-7 p.m. Thursday, July 24.

With the National Weather Service predicting a high of 92 degrees Fahrenheit, the electric company asks customers turn off nonessential electronic devices and increase the thermostat temperature a few degrees.

It said the use of nonessential electronic devices should be shifted to after peak hours.

“Small adjustments in when, where, and how you use electricity do make a difference in energy costs during high-demand periods,” the company said in a news release. “By decreasing electricity used during high-demand periods — when prices are at their highest — everyone can help stabilize future power costs for all members.”

Customers with questions should contact Connie Long at 800-521-0570 extension 2132, email her at clong@central.coop or visit the company’s website.
