Margaret Moore

Moore

Margaret Elizabeth Trimbur Moore, 93, of Karns City, passed away Monday evening, July 21, 2025, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Butler. Perfectly at rest in her bed, she was the perfect image of “calm and content” with a smile on her face.

Margaret, affectionately “Margie” to her family and “Peg” to her many friends, was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Rubert J. and Stella A. McGrady Trimbur.

She was a 1951 graduate of Chicora High School and a past member of the Karns City United Methodist Church. Margie was a hard worker. Margaret and her husband owned and operated Kenny’s Pizza in Karns City in the 1960s and 1970s. She loved keeping busy, and after retirement from the custodial department of Karns City High School, she worked at the former BiLo in Butler as a deli clerk. It was the right place for her. She enjoyed meeting and talking with anyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Moore, on Aug. 1, 2006. The couple was married at the Karns City United Methodist Church on Nov. 22, 1951.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela E. Miller of Petrolia and Gloria “Janie” Bromley and her husband, Carl, of New Castle; two grandsons, Matthew Miller of Petrolia and Mark Miller of Chicora; one great-grandson, Hayden of Petrolia; one great-granddaughter, Mia of Chicora; three sisters, Marie Miller of Butler, Nancy Trimbur of Chino, Calif., and Dorothy Osche of Bernville; a sister-in-law, Rose Moore of Hooker; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Moore; sisters, Ruth Landgraf and Stella “Sis” Davis; brothers, Howard and Rubert Trimbur; and a son-in-law, Richard E. “Rick” Miller.
