Rev. Wendell Flick

The Rev. Wendell G. Flick, 83, of Ford Cliff, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 18, 2025, at home, with his wife and daughter by his side.

He was born July 22, 1941, in Rimersburg, to the late Floyd and Violet Flick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sheldon Flick; and an infant child.

He is survived by his wife, Joan B. (Rupp) Flick; his daughter, Sharon L. Flick of Ford Cliff; his granddaughter, Brianna L. Wolfe of Kittanning; and a sister-in-law, Cathy (Rupp) Shaw of Ford City.

He was married to Joan in 1966, giving them 59 years of marriage. A 1960 graduate of Kittanning High School, he furthered his education at the National School of Meat Cutting, graduating in 1965. He retired from Friedman’s Market as a manager after 39 years of service.

The Rev. Flick attended the Bible Training Institute in Cleveland, Tenn. Wendell loved the Lord and, when called, he pastored 25 years in the ministry in Ellwood City, Ford City and Kittanning, until he retired for health reasons. He was also ordained as a bishop in the church and was a member of the The Church of God in Karns City.

Wendell enjoyed spending time with his family, making walking sticks, fishing, hunting and working in his garden.

He will be missed by his wife, daughter, granddaughter and dog, “Miss Marley,” along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank his pastor for his many visits to the home. They would also like to express gratitude to the doctors and nurses at ACMH and the Good Samaritan Hospice team for their good care given to him during his time here.

FLICK — Friends of the Rev. Wendell G. Flick, who died Friday, July 18, 2025, will be welcomed from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at WELCH FUNERAL SERVICE, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where services will follow at 8 p.m. Interment will take place in Mateer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Church of God, 105 Jay Lane, Karns City, PA 16041.
