Patricia Averal “Pat” Causer, 91, of Grove City, formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

Pat was born in Clintonville on Dec. 17, 1933, to Durante Vernon Ekis and Edna Ruth Sloan Ekis. She married Albert “Tab” Dewey Causer on Aug. 15, 1953, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1999.

Pat had worked in the cafeteria at Slippery Rock Elementary school for many years. She was a member of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church and was active in the King’s Daughters of the Church. She had enjoyed crafts, crocheting and, in earlier years, making costumes for her grandchildren. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol L. (David) Dennis of Grove City and Kathy E. (Jack) Lawson of Slippery Rock; three grandchildren, Lisa E. (Sean) Rihel of Grove City, Ben A. (Stefanie) Lawson of Monaca, Pa. and Kyle D. (Hadley) Dennis of Grove City; and four great-grandchildren, Hallie and Brooke Rihel and J. D. and Kaylee Lawson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Janice Varan and Lorraine Parenti.

CAUSER — The family of Patricia Averal “Pat” Causer, who died Wednesday, July 16, 2025, will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tai Courtemanche, pastor of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, presiding.

Interment will be held privately in Clintonville Methodist Church Cemetery.
