Legislative Roundup: Read about the bills introduced by state Senators Hutchinson and Vogel
The second quarter of 2025 legislative session in the Pennsylvania General Assembly has come to an end. Here is a look at some of the legislation introduced by those representing Butler County since April:
Hutchinson has been the primary sponsor of two bills. Legislation introduced by Hutchinson includes:
• SB755 would eliminate inactive state government boards, authorities, commissions, committees and councils, or such entities with overlapping duties.
• SB857 would require the state Game Commission, Fish and Boat Commission, and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to seek local government approval for land acquisitions.
Hutchinson also has sponsored resolutions to raise awareness of childhood apraxia of speech and to recognize World War II Air Force Cpl. Glenn Hodak, who died as a POW in a prison fire in 1945 and whose remains were only recently identified.
An additional piece of legislation yet to be introduced but circulating in search of cosponsors:
• would reduce the speed limit on dirt and gravel roads from 55 to 35 mph
Vogel sponsored resolutions urging the federal government to support whole milk in foods and designating June 2025 “Dairy Month” in the state.
