Helen McIlvaine-Johnston
Helen M. McIlvaine-Johnston, 60, of Freeport, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025.
She was born in Dallas, Texas, on Feb. 23, 1965, to the late William and Laura (Walker) McIlvaine. Helen earned her associate degree in criminal justice and was the owner/operator of H Honor Trucking and a repo driver.
She was known for being spunky, bullheaded and always wanted to be involved. Helen loved hunting and fishing and was active with the Pony Farm Sportsman’s Club and Girl Scouts.
Helen was the beloved wife of Dwight Johnston, since their marriage on July 10, 1999; mother of Misty and Heather Johnston and Brittiny Piper; sister of Larry and David McIlvaine and Barbara Blankenship; grandmother of Aiden, Dawson and Colton Johnston, Nathalie and Ray Kilgor, Laila Mosley, Nicholas Piper and Shahona Heddinger; and great-grandmother of Oakley Johnston.
MCILVAINE-JOHNSTON — All services for Helen M. McIlvaine-Johnston, who died Friday, July 11, 2025, were held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Kittanning Church of Christ, 213 Blaney Road, Kittanning.
