String of overnight car thefts hits Slippery Rock
Slippery Rock police warned residents to keep their vehicles locked at night in a Tuesday, July 15, Facebook post after a string of reported car thefts.
Police said most of the stolen cars in the borough and township have been the result of owners leaving their keys in the car. The cars have been taken overnight, driven around and returned near where they were taken from.
The returned cars have shown signs of being taken offroad, ransacked and wrecked.
Borough police asked anyone with Ring doorbell cameras that were active between midnight and 5 a.m. Tuesday on West Cooper and Center streets to contact their office at 724-794-6388.
