Janie and Lowell Wetzel

Lowell and Janie Wetzel, of Butler Township, will celebrate 70 years of marriage on July 16.

Wetzel married the former Janie Hockenberry on July 16, 1955, at Homer City Presbyterian Church, with a reception at Rustic Lodge.

They have two children, Steven Wetzel (Diane) of Freehold, N.J., and Kendra Rommel (Brian) of Garner, N.C.

The Wetzels also have seven grandchildren.

Wetzel is a retired art teacher for Butler Senior High School. He is a former U.S. Marine, and a member of F&AM Masonic Lodge No. 694, Scottish Rite Consistory of New Castle and Shriners of Syria of Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Wetzel is a homemaker.

The Wetzels were members of Covenant United Presbyterian Church.
