Remain open to other points of view
Today, entering into a discussion of politics is only for the brave-hearted.
Friends, neighbors and relatives appear to hold onto their points of view with little recourse to a calm dialogue.
The internet, social media, radio and TV, and newspapers all share reporter's opinions. In-depth research on the part of an individual may actually cause their opinions to change.
Thomas Jefferson wrote “a difference of opinion will come about from a difference of perception.”
He is also quoted as saying “I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend.”
