The entire state of Pennsylvania is currently facing a 911 system outage, potentially preventing 911 calls from getting through to dispatchers.
The Butler County Department of Emergency Services said in a Facebook post that Butler County is affected by the statewide outage, which could prevent standard 911 calls from getting through.
The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency sent out a phone notification saying individuals experiencing issues contacting 911 to contact their local 911 center’s nonemergency line.
For all emergencies, Butler County residents are being asked to bypass 911 and call 724-282-1221.
