David Yohe Bevington, 87, of Springville, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by family.

He was born Dec. 18, 1937, in Harrisburg, to Henry and Josephine Bevington. He was a devoted husband to Doris Louise Bevington, whom he married July 29, 1961, and who preceded him in death.

David was a hardworking, devoted Christian. He spent many years as a pastor ministering to the people of Pennsylvania, New York, Iowa and Michigan, retiring at the age of 85.

He was known to spend his time blueberry picking, playing harmonica and piano to residents of local nursing homes, and singing with friends and family.

He is survived by his son, Douglas Alan Bevington and his wife, Robin, and family; daughter, Donna Jean Benstead and family; brothers, Paul and Dan Bevington; as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

BEVINGTON — To celebrate his life, friends and family of David Yohe Bevington, who died Tuesday, July 8, 2025, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Chicora Alliance Church, 310 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m., with his nephew, Pastor Mark Hillwig, of East Brady Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
