Concordia Summer Festival returns July 27
Concordia will hold its 144th Summer Festival from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, in the backyard of Lund Care Center on the Concordia at Cabot campus, 134 Marwood Road, in Jefferson Township.
The festival will feature a picnic lunch at 12:30 p.m., live music by Chuck Blasko and The Vogues at 1:30 p.m. and a traditional worship service at 4 p.m. featuring Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod Eastern District President Rev. John Pingel. A car cruise will be on site from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
Food from Concordia staff will follow the theme “delicious summer picnic.” Food purchases are cash only.
A Fishing Derby for children age 12 and younger will take place from 12:30 to 3 p.m. A caricature artist, crafts and games also will keep youths busy throughout the day, and all children get a free food and drink item.
An open house to tour Concordia’s retirement living community will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Haven I, 112 Marwood Road.
