Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Morrow

Elizabeth L. “Betty” Morrow, 89, of Grove City, formerly of Prospect, passed peacefully Monday morning, July 7, 2025, following a brief illness.

Betty was born in Butler on Aug. 14, 1935, to Charles G. and Bessie L. (Morrow) Blatt. She married Jerry W. Morrow on May 9, 1953, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2002.

She was a graduate of Butler High School.

Betty was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Prospect, where she was active with the choir, served as a deacon, first Communion class and was instrumental with the start of CCD classes.

During her younger years, Betty was a private housekeeper for several families in Butler. For many years, she was a manager at the former Jean’s Country Store, Zelienople. Later in life she was a clerk at the Butler Walmart.

Most important to Betty was her faith in God and raising her family. She is survived by her five children, Stephen R. (Paula) Morrow of Oklahoma City, Okla., Thomas A. (Mary Beth) Morrow of Stuart, Va., Rachal L. (Michael) Renick of Grove City, Melissa K. (Farid) Hamidi of Conway, Pa., and Vernon E. (Bridget) Morrow of Butler; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son, Terrance; an infant daughter, Kathryn; a sister, Bessie Louise Heasley; and four brothers, Paul, George, Benard and Earl Blatt.

MORROW — A Mass of Christian burial for Elizabeth L. “Betty” Morrow, who died Monday morning, July 7, 2025, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, at St. Christopher Catholic Church at the Lake, 232 N. Franklin St., Prospect. Betty’s family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s local food pantry.

Arrangements are by CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
